		<title>포티지 2.1, LSB 호환을 위해 RPM 포맷 채택</title>

		논란의 여지가 있지만, 포티지 2.1에서 모든 패키지에 RPM 포맷을 적용할 계획이다. 
		사실상의 표준인 RPM으로 인해서 ebuild의 가치가 떨어질 것이다.
		이와 같은 결정은, 패키지 관리에 RPM 지원을 명시하고 있는 <uri link="http://www.linuxbase.org/">Linux Standard Base</uri> 사양과 호환을 보장하기 위한 조처이다.

		이전을 가능한 쉽게 할 수 있도록, 개발자들은 어려운 작업을 계속해 왔다.
		시험용 ebuild2rpm 스크립트는 이미 나와 있고 개발자 테스트 그룹에서 테스트를 하고 있다.
		불행하게도, 두 포맷은 설계에 차이가 많아서 젠투가 RPM으로 이전하면 어떤 기능은 지원되지 
		않을 것이다. USE 변수와 sandbox 보안이 그런 경우이다.
		완전한 LSB 호환으로 인한 잇점은 이 사소한 두가지 손실을 상쇄하고 남을 것이다.

		덧붙여, LSB의 <uri link="http://www.linuxbase.org/spec/refspecs/LSB_1.3.0/gLSB/gLSB/rlibraries.html">필수 지원 라이브러리</uri> 때문에,
		xfree86 패키지는 선택 사항이 아니라 기본 젠투 리눅스 시스템의 부분이 될 것이다.

		<title>Gentoo/PPC팀 조직 개편</title>

		Mark Guertin (gerk)이 최근에 젠투 리눅스 프로젝트를 떠났다.
		Mark를 대신해서 Pieter Van den Abeele (pvdabeel)이 Gentoo/PPC를 이끌 것이다.
		Pieter를 도와서, Luca, Graham 그리고 Seth가 PPC 개발에 노력할 것이다. 
		이들은 그룹의 두번째 리드로 선출되었다.
		새로 개편되는 조직은 PPC 개발에 더욱 분권화된 지위를 부여하고 융통성과 충분한 개발인력을
		제공한다.

		<title>젠투 리눅스 1.4_r4 출시 일정 발표</title>

		<p>Brad Cowan (bcowan)은 최근 젠투 리눅스 1.4_rc4 출시 일정을 발표했다.
		</p>

			<li>3월 23일 일요일 - 패키지 업그레이드 단계 시작 - 개발팀은 다음 14일 동안
			("~"가 붙은) 불안정 단계에서 안정화 단계로 이전하는데 박차를 가한다.</li>

			<li>3월 30일 일요일 - 빌드와 테스트 단계 - 다음 7일 동안,
			발견된 버그를 버그를 보고하는 jhhudso과 QA 테스터들과 함께
			일반 현재 CVS 트리에서 일반 CPU 스테이지 타볼을 만들고 테스트한다.</li>
			<li>4월 6일 일요일 - 최종 패키지 업그레이드 단계 -
			공식 CVS 스냅샷으로 빌드를 시작하고 테스트하는 단계</li>
			<li>4월 9일 수요일 - 공식 출시 결정 -
			이번 차기 출시를 "공식 출시"로 할지 출시 후보로 할지를 결정.
			아키텍처별 개발 리드, 릴리즈 코디네이터, 개발 매니저 그리고 수석 
			아키텍트 모두가 이 문제에 대해 만장일치로 최종 결정한다.</li>
